Q. What types of rental cars does Car Asia offer?
A. For business travel or holiday travel, our great passenger cars include economy, intermediate and full size classes, plus people movers / minivans for those travelling with a group. For a touring holiday or something special, we offer 4wd / suvs, and sports car hire through to the Audi range of prestige / luxury cars.

Q. How can I access cheap, discount or budget car hire rates?
A. There are many ways to save money on cheaper car rentals with Car Asia Travel. Online bookings offer a discount, as do many of our business clients and major partners.
From time to time we promote special offers for retail customers on our homepage and specials menu. We also send car rental and partner specials to email newsletter subscribers. You can also find savings at our one way car rental specials.

Q. Does Car Asia offer long-term rentals?
A. Yes, we offer long term car rental for corporate / business clients and regular customers.  To enquiry about long-term rentals, please email info@carorient.com or speak to one of our Customer Service Consultants on +603 8024 7424.

Q. What age do I need to be to rent a car or commercial vehicle?
A. The minimum age for all drivers is 21.  No one under the age of 21 can rent a car from us at any time. This is for insurance purposes.

Q. How do I add a child seat or GPS to my booking?
A. Child seats and GPS can only be added once you have made a booking, so the cost of the seat/GPS will be added on top of the quote we give you.  Once you have your reservation number, either contact your supplier directly to add on the child seat or GPS. We will need to know the size/ age of the child and how many seats to add.

Q. What happens if I receive a Speeding Fine?
A. Your car hire company will take one of the following actions:
1. Charge your credit card for the amount detailed on the fine.
2. Supply your information to law enforcement agencies, who will in turn issue a fine to your postal address.
In any case is advisable that you pay any fines you receive before leaving the country. Failure to pay fines received in Malaysia may result in refusal of a hire car, refusal of entry or cancellation of a visa on a return visit.

Q. What time frame do I have to wait to receive my Pre Authorisation?
A. A security bond will be refunded at the end of the rental provided that the vehicle has been returned on time, full of fuel and not damaged. Banks generally take up to 14 working days to release funds used for a security bond.
If a credit card was used for the security bond, the funds will be released by the bank. Europcar do not contact the bank to remove the pre authorisation.

Q. What happens if I return the vehicle late?
A. We allow a grace period of 30 minutes for the return of the Vehicle but if it is returned to us more than 30 minutes after the time set for its return in the Rental Agreement you will be charged one full day’s extra rental. Standard daily rates will apply if the Vehicle is returned to us more than 24 hours after the time set for its return in the Rental Agreement unless the Rental Contract has been extended by us. You will also be liable for any repossession charges, damage or any costs we incur.

Q. Do I need to check the condition of the vehicle prior to leaving the keys at the counter?
A. Yes, and if you found a new apparent defect (not listed on the vehicle statement remitted at time of pick up) you have to inform the Car Asia Travel employee for joint examination.

Q. Can I use other persons Credit Card to pay for my rental?
A. Yes, but the card holder must visit a Car Asia Travel location within to complete a letter of authority (LOA).

Q. What can I do if I do not have a credit card in my name?
A. Payment by debit card, cash or company cheque is acceptable in limited circumstances and payment by any of these means requires a bond to be paid to us at the start of rental.

Q. Does Car Asia Travel charge cancellation Fees?
A. Car Orient reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee.  Also a 'no show' fee may apply if you fail to notify us of your intended cancellation prior to the date and time of the commencement of your reservation.

Q. Does Car Asia Travel supply street directories?
A. Yes, you can hire a street directory at the time of booking. It will appear as an option at the 'quote summary' stage of your transaction.
